Deliverables – WP 1

Executive Summary:
The observations described in this deliverable contribute to the FOCI project’s integrated analysis which focuses on the radiative forcing properties of different atmospheric non-CO2 species in the wider context of the warming potential of all key greenhouse gases.
Executive Summary:
Aerosol particles affect the climate by scattering and absorbing solar radiation. Some, like black carbon (BC) and brown carbon (BrC), absorb radiation and warm the atmosphere, while others like sulphate and organic matter (OM) scatter radiation and cool it. This deliverable highlights key optical properties observed globally, helping to improve model-based radiative forcing estimates.
